 Our Client is one of the most prestigious Law Firms in the area and is looking for a talented Legal Assistant in St. Petersburg.

Legal Assistant

Temp to Hire position

Salaried: $15-17/hr commensurate with experience

Hours: Monday through Friday- 8:00am – 5:00pm

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Background check and drug test: Required

Start: ASAP


Law Firm is seeking a qualified legal assistant with a minimum 2-3 years of experience. The applicant must be self-motivated, team player, responsible, organized, multi-tasker. Responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and operational support.


  • Draft, proofread and/or disseminate legal documents and correspondence as directed by the attorney.
  • Administrative duties to include, but not limited to, copying, answering and directing telephone calls.
  • Scheduling of hearing, depositions, mediations, conferences, examinations under oath and other events as directed by the attorney.
  • Preparing legal professionals and paraprofessionals for events to include, but not limited to, compiling and organizing documents, preparing binders and/or folders.
  • Managing tasking system to ensure timely completion of all tasks assigned and updates to deadlines.
  • Gathering and organizing records, documents and other materials.
  • Timely and efficiently maintaining case management data within case management program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Request additional filing fee check if grand total exceeds the filing fee requirement and request sale fee check for specific counties
  • Work closely with trial attorneys
  • Ability to review current information in case management system
  • Assist with any additional tasks and projects, as needed



  • 1-3 years legal experience
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Capable to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of computer applications such as MS Outlook, MS Excel, client portals, internet and research programs
  • Knowledge of legal concepts and processes
  • Knowledge of legal terminology
  • Eager to learn new tasks and can embrace change
  • Ability to build positive relationships with other team members and members of the organization
  • Ability to work both independently and contribute in every aspect to a team environment
  • Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
  • Successful at multitasking in a high activity environment
  • Ability to handle confidential work in a professional, confidential and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems including, but not limited to, word processing, electronic and physical records management
