Account Executive

The Account Executive, reporting to the Senior VP, Sales, is responsible for upselling and cross-selling new sales for the existing customer base within a defined vertical market. This role is responsible for meeting annual quota and KPI objectives and ensuring consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, product demonstrations and presentations, and pipeline development activities. This role will identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.

Core Functions

Collaborates with Business Development Rep and Outside Sales – National Account Executive monthly to achieve the following:

  • Plan and strategize which industries and existing customer organizations should be targeted for prospecting/cold calling for the Business Development Rep
  • Develop sales strategies to increase territory pipeline and meet monthly demo objectives
  • Manage an assigned vertical market area to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing quarterly territory plan for the defined vertical market
  • Travel for tradeshows and onsite for corporate presentations when needed

Essential Job Duties

  • Records all sales activities and emails within the SalesForce CRM; minimum of 40 activities per day
  • Performs five to eight Webex demonstrations per week to show the companies SaaS solutions to prospects
  • Accurately forecasts monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in SaaS solutions
  • Participates in ongoing training/education

Skills Desired

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience
  • Demonstrated successful sales aptitudes and an ability to achieve and exceed sales quota on a consistent basis
  • Skill set includes competitiveness, a “hunter” mentality, strong work ethic, the ability to manage time wisely, the desire to find and exceed the needs of potential customers, and the ability to meet and exceed goals
  • Strong prospecting, sales, inter-personal and phone skills a must
  • Knowledge of chemical information management, or environmental health and safety and occupational health and safety regulations is a plus
  • Strong computer literacy—the ability to use various programs including, Web Ex, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
