About the Position:

Our client is an array of pharmacy related services for customers including patients, payers, pharmaceutical manufacturing companies and 340B Pharmacy Program eligible covered entities such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).? They are currently looking for a Pharmacy Call Center Tech.

 

Responsibilities

  • Working with providers to manage prior authorizations
  • Maintenance of the prior authorization management solution
  • Administrative and project-related functions within the pharmacy department while maintaining a balance of productivity, quality, and timeliness of job accountabilities
  • Initiate and coordinate prior authorization requests
  • Act as liaison between the clinical department and members, providers, pharmacies, and internal departments and responds to inquiries regarding status of prior authorization requests
  • Develop and maintain departmental desk-level procedures, training materials, and related documentation
  • Train on prior authorization management system updates as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Pharmacy Technician

  • Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening
  • Greet customers and answer questions
  • Received prescription and check their validity
  • Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
  • Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. record-keeping) as assigned
  • Comply with all security measures and quality standards and activities
  • Keep abreast and stay current with HIPPA, HITECH, and FWA credentialing
  • Provide notices to patients as required
  • Assist pharmacist and pharmacist-in-charge with clinical and non-clinical operations and document and report any issues per quality to the pharmacist and/or pharmacist-in-charge as appropriate

Packing and Shipping

  • Package orders based on policies and procedures
  • Coordinate delivery location and estimated time to ensure the customer is available to take receipt of temperature controlled or light sensitive medications to limit exposure to temperature and light
  • Based on the estimation of time, arrange the type of transportation needed
  • Create shipping labels
  • Handle a high call volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims
  • Answering incoming phone calls for prescription orders and refills, and make outgoing follow up calls to patients regarding their medications
  • Triage calls and escalate to appropriate leadership when necessary

Physical Requirements

Pharmacy Tech: Position requires frequently standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands to pull medications from stock, using hands to type; must be able to read computer screen and prescription descriptions on bottles and boxes. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Call Center Technician: Sitting for extended time periods. Employee will be bases in a corporate call center environment. Typical week will entail working Monday to Friday 9am to 5 PM. Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, and copy machine.
