QC Supervisor


Main Duties and Tasks:


  • QC supervision (operation)

ü  Product testing evaluation preparation (daily)

ü  Read production microbial test plates and record results/empty micro freezer from past days production (daily)

ü  Review/organize previous day’s production paperwork (daily)

ü  Verify CCPs and prepare Pre-shipment review for product release (daily)

ü  Log in products in Daily Shipment spreadsheet (daily)

ü  Log in Receiving ingredients (daily)

ü  Log in lot numbers in the traceability spreadsheet (daily)

ü  Walkthrough plant for Production Patrol report  - Plant sanitation inspection/CCP verification/Metal detector function test/GMP inspection (morning and afternoon shifts)

ü  Prepare daily plant issues report and communicate with production – Improve issues found and verify if corrective actions are completed  (daily)

ü  Prepare and verify boxing labels  (daily)

ü  Interface with USDA/EIAO/Government agencies – Effectively communicate USDA noncompliance concerns, respond to NRs (formulate corrective actions plan(s)/preventive action plan(s), lead Big 8 allergen verification with the IIC, present SOPs and SSOP documents to the IIC, present HACCP plan and CCP verification effectiveness to the IIC.

ü  Investigate and create root cause analysis with customer complaints based on: Foreign materials, product mix-up, mislabeling and product quality

ü  Train Quality personnel New Hires and Train CJ NEW HIRES in GMP and Quality standards

ü  Write SOPs and SSOPs as needed

ü  Prepare training materials and train employees at the monthly Food Safety and GMP training

ü  Monthly Facility Audit – follow up with issues and verify if corrective actions were applied

ü  Traceability Exercises – verify ingredients, lot numbers and ingredient usage were correctly logged in and used during the Mixing/Batching process.


  • Audit assist

ü  BRC audit – Lead the plant preparation in HACCP, Prerequisite programs, Employee training, Sanitation and Pest control issues. Assist in preparation of SOPs, SSOPs and completion of Master Cleaning Schedule tasks. Ensure corrective actions on noncompliance findings are completed in a timely manner and preventive actions are maintained

ü  Organic Audit – Ensure plant is in compliance with respect to organization/separation of storage of organic materials, assist in traceability exercises with organic ingredients, assist in completion of corrective action and maintenance of preventive actions


  • Others

ü  Manage lab supplies, Pest control issues, Order sanitation chemicals and Invoices related to Quality and Sanitation

ü  Cover vacations and vacant shifts in Quality personnel – assume duties of quality personnel on vacation and vacant shifts



  • BS Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or science based program preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food quality fields/audited food manufacturing sites/HACCP certified (USDA  facility QA or QC experience preferred)
  • Experience in Asian Foods or trained in SQF/BRC is a big plus
